Conciergia

Build it yourself on Wix or Squarespace, or have it done for you?

Website builders such as Wix and Squarespace let you build a site yourself for a subscription. A done for you service builds and runs it for you. Here is how to choose.

Who does the work

With a website builder, you choose a template, write the pages, add photos and keep everything up to date yourself. With a done for you service, you give a short brief and approve the result, and someone else does the design, writing and updates.

Time

A builder costs less money and more of your time. Setting up a site properly, then keeping it current, can take more hours than most owners expect. If your time is better spent on paying work, that matters.

Search and enquiries

Builders give you the tools for search, but not the work: keyword research, writing articles and keeping your Google Business Profile in shape are still up to you. Conciergia includes search work, and Front Desk answers questions and catches enquiries on your site, Instagram and Facebook.

When a website builder is the better fit

  • You enjoy doing it yourself and have the time
  • You only need a simple page with your details
  • Your budget is very tight and you are happy to trade time for money

When done for you is the better fit

  • You want a custom site without learning a builder
  • You want changes made for you whenever you ask
  • You want search, enquiries and social handled as well as the site
